Designed as an educational game to be used in a middle school classroom in order to teach students Energy transfer and conservation. Sol put players in control of a dragon with the power of solar beams who must journey through the solar system restoring life to planets. In order to do so, players were required to platform and solve puzzles based on energy conversion and transfer.
Design Highlights:
Created and implemented a mechanic where the player uses their beam to generate heat which can move across metal.
Made a mechanic whereby players could shine light on plants to make them grow into a ladder-structure
Designed an interaction where a player can heat up an area next to an ice block to create wind from a pressure differential
